Cultural Exchange Programme

A cultural exchange programme commenced between Department of Education Panjab University, Chandigarh and faculty of Education, Simon Fraser University (SFU) Canada in session 2005-06. A first batch of 11 students and one faculty member, Prof. Don Northey visited department in October - November 2005 Two of our students have gone to SFU to attend one semester courses in SFU, Burnaby, Vancouver.

Second batch of 12 students and one faculty member from SFU visited Department of Education, Panjab University, in October - November 2006.

Another team of 14 students headed by Matic Bernaeli visited in October - November 2009. The cultural exchange programme in Department of Education was generally of 8-10 days spread over approximately a month. It comprised of a complete cultural day, showcasing India, drama presentation, a presentation on Gandhian thought, a glimpse of Indian monuments and architecture, a visit to an Indian School, Yoga, challenges for youth in both countries, socio economic and political influences on education etc through interdisciplinary and interactive sessions.
